The shape and the colors are beautiful. And eerie, somehow. Or is that only because I know that they capture and eat insects!
I saw this plant in the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota, Florida. I would love to see one in real life.
It reminds me of a poisoned chalice!
If it could talk, it might say: "I'm not terrible, or all the things I've been called. I can't help that I'm a plant that eats insects."
I would ask this plant the question: What do you eat for dessert?!
I think the name is Nepenthes.
